What an unforgettable two days!
On July 18th and 19th, Rusinga Island, Kenya came alive as 100 young leaders (our DBR Cohorts), mentors, and coaches gathered for the DBR Leadership Summit 2026—a joyful celebration of dreaming boldly, growing together, and leading with confidence. From energizing workshops to our very first yoga sessions, the girls discovered just how powerful their voices truly are. The journey is only beginning, and the future has never looked brighter!

We were honored to welcome Lauren Eckstrom, co-founder and co-CEO of Inner Dimension, who led our very first yoga sessions at the summit—a true highlight for the girls.
An internationally recognized yoga teacher and mindfulness meditation instructor, Lauren has guided renowned musicians, filmmakers, executives, and Fortune 500 companies. She has been featured on the cover of Yoga Journal and named one of its top teachers to study with. We are deeply grateful to her for sharing her wisdom and presence with our young leaders.
OUR WORKSHOPS
This year, an extraordinary group of empowered, brilliant women hand-crafted every workshop from the ground up — pouring their wisdom, creativity, and heart into experiences made just for our girls. Together, they brought the Summit to a whole new level. 💛

Emotional Expression Through Movement & Storytelling
In this workshop, the girls learned that their life experiences matter — and so do the feelings that come with them. 💛
Guided by mother-daughter coaching duo Whitney Kaufman & Sara Jane Gould they explored five universal emotions — joy, sadness, peace, strength, and surprise — and the stories from their own lives that surfaced along the way.

The Power of Female Friendship & Relational Mindfulness
Led by Lauren Eckstrom, this workshop invited the girls into a simple but powerful truth:

She Paints Her Story: Creating,
Expressing, Leading
This wasn't a craft class. It was a carefully held space where teen girls used art to express what words couldn't yet reach — and to imagine the futures they're growing toward. 🎨
Guided by coaches Lisa Freeman Conner & Val Miller, and rooted in the Dream · Believe Repeat philosophy.
Because when a girl stands and shares her art, she's practicing something bigger than drawing. She's practicing voice, presence, and belief.
Career Path Awareness + Wise speech and conflict resolution
Lead by coaches Minji Cho, Susan Dulabh Davis, and Ellee Ven.
This was a creative program designed to help young women explore their identity, future aspirations, and community impact.
It was a fun and artistic hands-on journey where participants explored their future through the vibrant metaphor of a tree.
Rooted in support, reaching for their dreams — Every dream planted, every girl growing — together, they became a forest of possibility. 🌱 🌳
